Very rare 1962 Wandre Rock 6 guitar from the Italian Engineer/Artist Antonio Wandre Pioli. The Rock 6 is one of the only models he made with a wooden sculpted body. This has the adjustable aluminum neck that Wandre was famous for inventing. As his production was very limited, Wandre guitars are very rare and according to “The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Electric Guitars” they are “the most eccentric European guitars of any period in guitar history”. Wandré was attracted early on to aluminum and its structural usages. A common occurrence in many guitars of this era was neck warpage. Wandre solved that with an aluminum neck, with a rosewood fretboard, that featured an adjustment that allows for placing the neck at a suitable angle for your playing style. Wandre guitars have become very collectible with musicians and art collectors. Even more so since the Wandre book was published. Wandre guitars can be found in museums and various Wandre showings put on by Wandre fan groups throughout Europe and elsewhere. This Wandre Rock 6 has the tremolo unit unlike most of Rock 6 models. The fretboard is rosewood. The back of the neck is aluminum which is covered with the factory white plastic veneer for a smoother feel. Note that the veneer is worn from age but is still smooth and comfortable. The guitar plays very comfortably and the pickups and electronics function perfectly. A modern rectangular hard case is included. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
