Hondo H1 Death Dagger Guitar Early 1980's very rare original paint & case
A stunning rare collectors item. This amazing looking guitar is a 1980’S HONDO H1 Pelham Blue Death Dagger Electric Guitar. It comes with the original internally-custom-shaped hardcase. Very few of this model were made and they are very very rare to find nowadays; especially in original unrestored condition. The Hondo H1 Death Dagger is a guitar that harkens back to the heyday of hair metal. It has a 24-fret neck with massive cutaway in the body for access all the way up. These Japanese-Built Hondos have a reputation of a well built instrument. This guitar is in generally good shape, but of course has the expected marks, dings and scratches you will find on a used almost 40 year old vintage guitar. Plays well with very little fret wear and a pretty low action. Set neck join to body is perfect and no cracks can be seen. The most notable age-related wear and dings are on the ends of the horns of the body. The headstock has some paint worn away and there is some paint chipped away main body. Check out the photos for dings and scratches (if you need more close-ups please contact me). It is mostly cosmetic wear and grime, but certainly fixable with a little TLC. To be honest it could do with a nice deep clean and overhaul, new strings, fret polishing, perhaps a new nut (this one seems to be put on the wrong way round sometime in the distant past). The truss rod cover seems to be a non-original replacement. This guitar comes with its original hardshell case with red, custom-shaped-to-fit interior. IThis incredible guitar is a real head turner. Almost all original condition (apart from truss rod cover), many of these have been repainted but this is original livery and pin-striping. Super cool lightning bold headstock design and Pelham blue finish with red pinstripe trim. This item can be collected by appointment and proper social distancing collection can be done.
